$2.8 Trillion Federal Budget. Play the Home Edition!It may be boring, but at least it’s tedious. It’s the kind of thoughtful, yet daunting homework every voter ought to consider. How would you prioritize the federal budget? The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget has a 4.5mb, 111 page document that goes through the federal budget, segmented into 8 categories, and asks the participants to develop a budget. Each section provides some background analysis, some common strategies, and pro/con arguments for each. The Exercise in Hard Choices has been used by varied groups from campaign constituencies to high school civics classes.
