Domestic InitiativesThe two-day project of painting the front room took twice that long, but it was done in time for Thanksgiving guests. The rain let up enough to finally get all the leaves off the yard. The back yard grass will eventually bounce back – I hope. And today’s grand finale; I put a new sump pump in the crawl space. I keep waiting for the secret service to stop by and clean the gutters, but I guess if the rain holds off tomorrow I’ll have to swallow my unease on ladders and quit procrastinating. None of this is particularly relevant to a presidential campaign, but at least I have the satisfaction of a job well done – and a drier crawlspace. Their odds are overwhelmingly bad. I was just plugged into a discussion of this issue on another blog, TheNextPrez. That’s why I’m running as a Republican hoping to attend the nominating convention and nudge the Party back from the abyss of social conservatism. I think my efforts have better probable payoff within the two-party system than from outside the system. I addressed a similar question over on myspace recently.
