ReparationsI don’t see the value in focusing on this issue in a retrospective manner. For any lingering disadvantage that any minority might suffer today, we should be looking at ways to level the playing field and provide equal opportunity for all Americans. Many Americans lack equal opportunity due to race, gender, geography, class and uncountable other factors. More important than the historical reasons why these disparities exist is the need to facilitate improved access to education, security, and a strong economy that can provide upward mobility for all Americans.
