Term Limits

Term limits mandate a loss of institutional knowledge and expertise that should be left to the voters to decide. If an incumbent is lousy, vote him out, but leave that decision to the voters. Eliminate term limits where they exist.

I do see an exception when it comes to the Presidency. Under the 22nd amendment we limit Presidents to two elected terms, as had been customary practice for every president other than Franklin Roosevelt. Due to the immense personal power that rests in the Presidency, and our historical desire to avoid anything that even remotely resembles a monarchy, I think the two term limit for the President is appropriate.
